Seth King has been appointed finance director at Transdev Blazefield, moving from an interim role as financial controller with the York-based rail holiday provider Great Rail Journeys.
King trained as a chartered accountant with Deloitte and spent nine years with GE Capital in their consumer finance division in Leeds before becoming head of finance at VocaLink, who provide Bacs and ATM services to UK banks and building societies. He then became finance director at gift card business Hemingways.
Transdev Blazefield CEO Alex Hornby, says: “Seth comes to us with a highly successful track record of financial experience, and clearly shares our passion for amazing customer service.
“As our business continues to grow across the north, it’s vital that our plans are supported by a stable and sustainable approach to finance. Seth brings all the right qualities to this important role, and I’m looking forward to welcoming him on board.”
King adds: “I’m delighted to be joining Transdev Blazefield at a time when the bus has such a vital role to play in delivering transport solutions for the north’s communities. Transdev Blazefield already has a strong reputation as an industry leader, and I’m looking forward to working closely with colleagues to make the most of the many exciting opportunities to further grow the business in 2019 and beyond.
“I’m also excited by the potential for this business to become the greenest operator in the market. We’ve already made a positive start to this important journey, with eight high-tech all-electric buses entering service in Harrogate, the first of their kind anywhere in the UK, in a joint investment worth almost £4 million.”
